Expections by course level in ESM*

100 lecture ESM 150 – introduction or review for college level work
100 lab
200 lecture Introduction to domains and current problems. Limited  Writing and analytical skills to professional standards
200 lab Skills that will be used in UD Teaching or research equipment on practice problems
300 lecture Current state of the art with contemporary literature Evidence based critiques
300 lab Need professional grade equipment and authentic issues
400 lecture Based on faculty expertise. Connect students to the network or community doing this type of work
400 lab Professional level skills in laboratory or field
400 internship experience in a professional setting in a related field

* We use a different set of criteria for the SCI courses that are designed to build skills and knowledge for non-science majors who have different academic backgrounds and take fewer courses.
