The World Cultures and Dance Program is a pilot program for PSU,
focused especially on the dance and culture of the African Diaspora in the Americas.
We offer classroom courses, dance classes, and percussion classes through the Humanities Department.

Explore the African-based dance cultures of Cuba, Jamaica, and theUnited States, examining issues of belief, transformations,authenticity, gender, commodification, and appropriation.

    Non-credit options:

    • Prices below are for the academic year only.
      Summer terms are shorter and therefore
      have different pricing. Please see individual
      dance flyers (linked to class title) for summer
      pricing.

    • Purchase "PSU Dance Cards."
      Cost is $45 for 5, 1.5 hour sessions,
      or $80 for 10 sessions. The dance
      cards can be used in any of the HUM
      dance classes.

    • Pay cash for an entire class--$140
      for the 2 credit courses and $280
      for the 4 credit course.

      Cards can be purchased from Mary King,
      in 241-H Cramer Hall, or from the dance
      teachers.

      Checks should be made out to PSU,
      with a note in the corner that they
      are for the World Cultures and Dance Program.

      If anyone would like to purchase a card
      or register for the class on a non-credit basis,
      they can do so by mail--as well as in person--by sending a check to:

    Study Abroad!
    We are planning short, 10-14 day-study abroad
