My research & teaching interests include literacy
acquisition and development, second language acquisition, equity issues in
literacy and schooling, the uses of information and communication technologies
in homes, schools, workplaces and communities, and research methodology.
I am involved in several ongoing research projects, including the Longitudinal Study of Adult Learning
and the Adult ESOL Lab School,
the Limited English Proficient Workers project and the National Agricultural
Workers Survey. My hobbies include tennis, photography, skiing, blues,
and creative uses of technology.
