Second term of Freshman Inquiry was wonderful and I knew that it would help me through out my school years at Portland State University.  Being talented in writing is very good skill to have, because writing is one way of communicating with people.  Being able to write well will help us on the path toward a bright future.  Through out our lives we use our writing skill quite often.  Therefore, being able to write is like accomplish half the distance through the road of success.

Knowledge, Art, and Power are all intertwine in our life one way or another.  Having knowledge is like having power and infinite treasures given by God.  Last term was very difficult for me, and I thought that I would not make it through the term.  As far as this term, once I entered the chapter about Knowledge, Art and Power, I was a little surprise, because the assignment in the syllabus was almost twice as much as the first term.  In the first term I had too much things that I had to get done.  But I knew that as the year progress things would get more and more difficult.  I try to warn myself by setting up due dates schedule ahead of time.  I’ve also tried to make appointment with the writing center so that I could get some help with my papers.  The Writing Center has helps me organize my ideas and thoughts for many of my essays.  Moreover, from time to time I also tried to get help from Jamie and Rebecca.
During this term, I work harder by set up a study group with some classmate and using the same help tools from last term.  Study group outside of class helps me more because in class lectures I could not pick up all the information that was given to me.  As a result, I would discuss with my classmate about who got what information and we exchange the difference.

At the end of this term I saw the results of my essays has improve slightly.  I believe that all my energy and effort that I put in class has starting to show.  As all of my formal essays, I got one A, one C, the rest are B’s and B+’s.  The reader responses turned out plus and check.  The ability, energy, formal essays, reader responses, my web page, plus the good attendance in class, I have a confidence that I would get an A for this term.  I have Jamie, Rebecca, the Writing Center, and the study group to thank for my improvement in this class.
