How to use OAM

OAM is a web-based application. You can log into OAM by navigating to:

You will need to log into OAM using a login name (your Odin Id) and password.

Things to Look Out for after you have OAMed yourself

Make sure you pay close attention to the details on this page.

While OAM brings a number of convenient features to all users, it also changes some long standing assumptions about how these computer accounts work.

Password Synchronization

Pre-OAM, your passwords for the PSU Information System (Banweb), PSU lab account and E-mail account were often separate. (Or they diverged when you began to change them.)

Once under OAM's control, the only place you can change your password is from within OAM itself. Local passsword changing mechanisms elsewhere may be disabled or produce unpredictable results.

This means that when you change your password from OAM, this new password will affect the PSU Information System (Banweb), your PSU Lab Account, myPSU access and your E-Mail/Wifi access as well. Users who set their mail programs or browsers to remember their password may find those programs failing to connect to their services after you have switched. You will need to reset the password locally on these programs to make them reconnect again.

Password Aging

Driven by security auditors, we are required to provide password aging. This means expiring your password every 6 months or so. During the initial roll-out of OAM, password aging will be driven by the password expiry mechanism in the PSU Information System (Banweb) which will send you to OAM to change your password. When you change your password in OAM, the change will be synchronized with all systems controlled by OAM.
