OAM : The Odin Account Manager
Brought to you by the Office of Information Technologies
Already have PSU accounts?
If you already have accounts for the PSU Information System (Banweb), PSU Computer Labs, E-mail and wi-fi (Pubnet),
you may continue to use them as before even after OAM goes live.
Want to get OAM'ed anyway?
Getting OAMed is the process of registering your account with OAM. Once registered, your passwords will be synchronized, your Odin ID will be usable with the PSU Information System (Banweb) and you will be able to self-serve various aspects of your account. Most importantly, OAMing yourself will enable you to access the Portland State University portal, myPSU.
How do you get OAM'ed?
Navigate to:
The login name you use for your E-mail access or PSU Computer
Lab access is known as your Odin ID. Log in using your Odin ID and
password. You will be led through the following steps.
- Reset your password. (Yes, this means you have to change your password. And getting OAM'ed means that you will be required to periodically change your password.)
- Set up your secret questions (used if you forget your password and need to reset it yourself).
- Register your e-mail address. This tells PSU where to direct mail sent to your PSU e-mail address. You can either use the @pdx.edu mailbox at PSU or specify an offsite e-mail address.
- Select your e-mail address at PSU (from a list of choices which may also include firstname.lastname@pdx.edu when possible).
- Signify acceptance of the PSU Computer Acceptable Use Policy and Electronic Communications Policy.
When you have completed these tasks, OAM will take over the management of your accounts. Within a few minutes, your passwords in the PSU Information System (Banweb), computer labs, wifi, Blackboard and e-mail will be synchronized. You will be able to use your Odin ID and password to use the myPSU portal. You will also be able to use your Odin ID and password to log into the PSU Information System (Banweb).
Account Maintenance after you have used OAM:
You can return to OAM if you need to:
- Reset your password
- Change your secret questions
- Change your e-mail address registration
- Update your PSU Directory Entry (for employees)
