Painting is relative. Typical ideas of painting refer to it as a wet medium applied by brush, but the way I define it in terms of this site is a painterly effect achieved in the work, whether the medium be wet or dry, applied by hand or with a brush. Thus, I classify a lot of dry media work as paintings if the effect achieved is painterly in effect. Strange, I know.
