Welcome! This site provides information about Security and Self-Defense to those among the community at Portland State University. The term 'CBL Project' (located in our header logo) refers to 'Community Based Learning,' which is what we, as a group of students, strived to experience during this project. Our group consists of students enrolled in the Freshman Inquiry course, "Entering the Cyborg Millenium," which is a course dedicated to technology, and its effects on society. In a series of interviews, and other forms of research, our group has aimed to provide a resource for those interested in the overall security of Portland State University. This includes a map of security cameras around the parking structures, as well as list of emergency phone booths in case of an emergency. You will also find a section dedicated to self-defense, in which we help you better equip yourself for those unsafe late night study sessions on campus.
