Train to the Underworld

This is a short 12-minute documentary, which I presented as my final project of "Community Based Learning" in the UNST Columbia Basin class. It displays the history of the Portland Metropolitan Area Express (MAX) light rail, and the development of its latest expansion: the Yellow Line/Interstate Avenue MAX.

The piece was written, filmed, narrated, and edited by myself.

Scenes from the Video:

The Tranquil MAX  View from the Steel Bridge  Global Reflection  Dirty Downtown Street  Steel Bridge Crossing  Interstate Signal  Steel Bridge Raising  West Side Tunnel  The Light At The End Of The Tunnel Is Indeed That Of A Rapidly Approaching Train

The video is posted in its entirety for viewing online as a 3.9 MB QuickTime movie; however, to conserve space and bandwidth the visual and audio quality of the movie has suffered (it runs at a choppy 6 frames-per-second and sounds like an aging telephone speaker). Nevertheless, here it is.

(If you find this fiendishly fascinating, my other aspirations into the world of the audio-visual may be found here)
