The Oregon Center for Career Development in Childhood Care and Education (OCCD) provides leadership in the development and operation of integrated and statewide professional development standards and systems. OCCD promotes professional development to achieve high quality care and education for children and youth, and creates and supports training and education.

Role of Portland State University

The Center is placed under the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Portland State University, which serves as both a fiscal and administrative agent. Hence, the Center is bound by all policies and procedures of the University and the Oregon State System of Higher Education. Administratively, the Director of the Center reports to the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences who serves as the representative of Portland State University.
