SUMMER WEAR

  • Polyester Tee

    Synthetic materials and moisture-wicking fabrics are a must instead of cotton. Synthetics will help you keep cool as they wick moisture and sweat away from your body. A nice shirt like this will also prevent chafing.

  • Sports Bra

    This is a must for women. Go for a supportive one so you're comfortable going as fast as you please. Sometimes, smaller and tighter works best in this case. Also, keep in mind that sports bras usually only last after about 72 washes.

  • Hats and Visors

    For the summer, get a cap or visor that will keep the sun out of your eyes. Hats are great too for holding water after you've poured in on your head during racing and keeping you cooler longer.

  • Tank Top

    This is the perfect choice for those who overheat easily or don't what to feel as restricted like when in a tee. Just make sure that the tank top is also synthetic, and put sunscreen on those shoulders!

  • Spandex Shorts

    These aren't for everyone, but if you're a big runner, these can be a great pick for races. They make you feel like you're running a whole lot faster. Plus, if you chafe from normal running shorts, these can also help you out. Just be sure to pick a dark color. No one wants to see sweat down there.

  • Synthetic Running Shorts

    Again, make sure your fabric helps wick sweat and moisture away from you to keep you cool. Also, try to find some running shorts with pockets for your keys and/or ID. Test out the pockets in the store, because these can be too small sometimes.
