Terrain Analysis Final Exam Questions
Answer ALL questions. Your

not including graphics. Use all resources available to you including texts,
manuals, lab exercises, and help files. The exam is due on December 7 by 5 PM.
- List and describe the standard steps of delineating watershed
boundaries from a DEM. Describe two approaches to improving this standard
watershed delineation procedure. (10 points)
- You have described the watershed delineation analysis in Question
1. List and describe 3 other
types of GIS analysis that require the use of digital terrain information.
You must describe the general procedures, required data/information, and
applications of each analysis. (10 points)
- Describe how ArcGIS handles digital elevation/terrain data for
analysis. Your answer must include 1) the various digital
elevation/terrain data models in ArcGIS, 2) ArcGIS tools that convert data
between these data models, and 3) how digital elevation/terrain data are
related or transferred to 2D GIS layers for 3D analyses and visualization
in ArcGIS. (10 points)
