Ethical Issues and Social Responsibility

This goal is the process of learning how our actions impact society, a society and ultimately the world, the future and our future lives. And those actions are connected to our ethics and how we understand and follow our social responsibilities. This is it for my personal definition of this goal, I believe it is sufficient. So now the question is, have I grown in this area and do I understand what this goal is meant to do? The answer is yes.

The way that I grew into this goal is by really learning to not let anything bother me or make me see things only one way. By doing that I believe that the actions I take will now be better for society  in a social and an intellectual level. I also learned what my specific responsibilities are in certain situation and with certain groups of people, as well as with myself. Now I remain neutral in almost everything and there are few things in which I really am not neutral in. And yet there are still sometimes, because I am human, in which this statement will turn me into a hypocrite. But in the end that is also part of being an individual. When people say am this and am that and then they do something that counteracts that others say what a hypocrite. But why can’t you say something and do something and have them both be who you are? In this goal there is a limited amount of writing that I can go into because I truly have to grow more in this area and test some scenarios as well as the community and in the end people themselves.

Now that I know where my ethical  and social responsibilities lie I am interested in seeing where the rest of the community’s responsibilities are at. And maybe that will complete my transformation, for on order to know others well you must firs know yourself and in return you are always rediscovering yourself and others in a never ending circle. To show the small bit of info that I offered on my growth on this I have chosen my midterm from the winter term and my essay on Forbidden Knowledge by Robert Shattuck from the fall term.

These two examples show my growth in the way that I was exposed to the different decisions that individuals have made in the past and are being made now, however I am not really comfortable with this goal for personal reasons so I really cannot exactly pinpoint where in the essay sit shows how they represent my learning in the area, but I feel that it shows and I know that I have grown so in the end that is really all that matters.
