Darwin Journal  2

At the time of voting for either Darwin or the environment I believed that Darwin was the better choice as it interested me the most. My interest on the subject where led by the assumption that Darwin, at the time he wrote the origin of species, had already developed the idea of evolution and had referred to it specifically. I also believed that he backed up his theories and statement perfectly well, in a strong  manner and with a variety of sources and prove. With these reasons I decided to make Darwin my point of interest instead of environment, I really thought I had much to gain by reading his work. At the time I had no idea how really minimal and how early on in the stages of the notion of evolution Darwin was placed in or belonged to.

As I sat down and read the first  couple of pages I was sort of confused by the way that he presented his work, he stated many times that at first he had no confidence on his work and that it took other participants to encourage him to publish his findings on the matter. I cannot figure out whether to call his work a work on adaptation, variation or evolution. Because at the time his work was not really about evolution, it was about something different, something that set the stage and opened the doors for evolution. Or is his work in the book merely about there being differences in things and that those differences made things the way they are? To a certain extent is was very interesting at the beginning of the book and it was also pretty informative and insightful into variation. All in all most of it was an elaboration and a somewhat deeper form of things that I already knew and know. So I believe it is save to say that my impression of Darwin, after reading the introduction , was not as high as before and yet it would descend some more after reading the first two chapters.

It is very interesting to try to understand and in return believe that this is the book that shook the world back in its day.  I say this because it appears to me that the world back then was a very ignorant and a strict one at that too. I see no statements or any other scenarios that would go against religion in the book or in modern evolution today. What I am saying is that I don’t see the book as controversial now or back then, that however does not mean that I don’t understand why it was considered controversial. My reason for not seeing or recognizing this book as controversial is because I believe that there is an explanation to what is said in the bible about things being created as they are now and as they were then and that  they did not evolve. I also happen to believe in evolution mostly in animals and not in humans although there is another idea that I have on this and I will explain both. In the animal sense I prefer to call it mere adaptation and change. Now to the statement I made about things being made the way thy are now and the way they were all the way back from the beginning, every little second and any sub forms of a second all through out history. Because I believe that yes, the bible is correct when it states that god created everyone and everything as it is now and as it has always been at any given point in time and space.

I came upon this idea during the ending days of the fall term at P.S.U and it was given to me by a new acquaintance at the time.  That acquaintance is an older person that shares the same interests and ideas on certain things that I do. At one point I asked this individual what his take on heaven was, was there a heaven and does evolution exist? He stated that there is a possibility and a way in which evolution can exist and that there is more sense in the fact that it doesn’t (I decide not to go into this part because it would take too much time and I am not able to express myself well enough to explain it in a well though out manner yet). So here it is, god made everything as it is. And he did he made the computer I am working on, the paper I will print on and the ink I will use to print with. He also made the object your sitting on and the room that you are in. he also made everything in that room too. But you might say that is not true because it didn’t exist back in Adam and eve’s time, but so what.. It is stated that god made everything and he did. The intricate factor to this is that we believe that because we have barely discovered it or that because it exist now that it is new and that it never existed before this time. And that is not so because I believe that god has made everything as it is and as it will be. All that is left for us is to discover it and to come to a point in our growth and development as spiritual beings in this world and universe to be able to bring his creations to the physical world and into our lives. For all we know god has already created our end and the end of our world and he is waiting for us to get to that point so that he may descend from heaven once  again and judge the living and the dead. And who knows he may also have certain paths that we might follow and if we change we can follow one of those paths that will lead to salvation without destruction. So to restate my point god has already created everything that there is or ever will be and it is now up to us to get to the point of the discovery of such things.
