COURSE
OBJECTIVE: This course examines the development and
physical characteristics of landforms.
The goal of the course is to enhance student understanding of how
landforms are created through constructional (e.g., tectonic and volcanic) and
erosional processes (e.g., weathering and mass-wasting). Landform identification and the relationship
between landforms and climate are also emphasized as students explore how
landforms differ among arid, glacial, periglacial, and coastal
environments. Human influences on
landform development and processes are also addressed.
PREREQUISITES:
Introductory physical geography or
consent of instructor; Introduction to
Geology or
Earth Science desirable.
REQUIRED
