Notes. Welcome to Mth 311.

The course is more focused on rigorous development of fundamental concepts than in computations using the tools from calculus.  The following handout may give you the flavor of the course in case you are still undecided about taking it.  (Specific details for the Winter course may vary slightly.)

Course Materials:  all  course materials and handouts will be available in D2L for registered students:  https://d2l.pdx.edu/

Textbook: We will use an open source (free) textbook that is available here.  Sections 1.1 and 1.2 will be covered briefly as needed.  If you want to read ahead, Sections 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, and 1.6 will give you a good head start.

The text will be supplemented with extensive examples and practice problems in class.  Additional materials on logic and proofs to support the course will be presented in class as well.  More details will be available once the class starts.
