Questioning, puzzling, hypothesizing, and reflecting
I have developed an understanding of what critical thinking and inquiry means. I believe I have progressed well through this class from this specific goal. Asking questions is a significant factor to the development of critical thinking as well as puzzling and hypothesizing. Puzzling and hypothesis provides an approach to the greater aspect of thinking critically in discussions. The discussions in class are reflected from our thoughts and ideas. I also thought that all of the written work we have accomplished so far is relevant to the progression towards this goal. The peer editing and revising made improvements to our writing. Not only do we receive feedback from our peers we gain more of an out look to our writing by receiving more ideas.
The work I have included that demonstrate the significance of this goal are: Essay on "What is the Purpose of a College Education?" ,Ellen Ullman "Close to The Machine" a journal response to three articles: "Man and Machine become one," "Nanotechnology," and "Faster, Lighter computers possible with nanotechnology," my personal reflections, and second term research paper, "Ethics in Genetic Cloning." These written samples reflect the meaning and understanding of thinking critically and inquiry.
