I was born in Portland Oregon on March 1st, 1984 in Emanuel Hospital. I lived in Aloha all my life with my family of five, my mom, dad, older brother and sister, which makes me the youngest in the family.I grew up mostly interested in dance and sports. Ever since I was a young, I have always dreamt of becoming a dancer or a gymnast. I started ballet when I was seven years old and continued until I was eleven. Then I began taking gymnastics at eleven until I was fourteen years old. I quit because I wasn’t having fun and I had a back injury. When I started high school I though about going back to gymnastics where I would continue it as my college goal. I wanted to do gymnastics at UCLA and study for my life career in sports an or health. However, I never pursued that goal, one unaccomplished goal I have ever regretted.
In high school, I ran track as a freshman where I was a sprinter for the 100M, 200M, and 200M-relay team. I also tried the long jump but I didn’t like it because of myself being short, I didn’t think I would get very far. I only ran track for a year and decided that running track wasn’t something I really wanted to do. Running in the rain almost everyday and getting sick wasn’t my ideal sport. I only did this sport to make up for the absence of gymnastics. Sophomore year I decided to take a year off from activities because I haven’t not done something ever since I was six years old. Then I tried out for Aloha high schools dance team called the Analanis, meaning Princes in Hawaiian. I danced for two year in high school and graduated from there in June of 2002.
Now I attend to Portland State University where I became a dancer on the Cheer/Dance team. Here I met a lot of great people and not so great people. I believe that college is where you embark on the great aspects of your interests and you’ll know what exactly you want to do in the future. You meet new people in college with a very different environment from high school. I feel that you make your long life friends in college and you’ll learn how to appreciate what you have. Here at Portland State I expect to major in Psychology and earn my Batchelder of science degree. I also have a high level of interest in children. With psychology, I want to become a clinical child psychologist where I can understand children and how they work.
I also have an interest in technology, where I have chosen to take a Freshmen Inquiry University Studies class. Technology is everywhere and it has a part in everyone. I relate to technology because I use it everyday and every second of my life. I couldn’t imagine technology being nonexistent. Cell phone and computers are a big deal in my life; if I never had them, I couldn’t do without them. Aside from using my computer for academic work, I use it mostly for communication and I use my cell phone when I’m not on the computer.
