I see an angel flying down the sky

He lifts me up and cries

Maybe he's talking to me

Noin sat atop the roof of the Vice-Foreign Minister's residence. From here she could watch the stars in peace. The stars helped comfort her.

Just earlier today Noin had gotten into a fight with Dorothy Catelonia. She hated the way that girl tired to manipulate Relena. Today Dorothy had stepped over the line. Yes, she wasn't responsible for Relena's safety any more, but Noin felt almost as if Relena was her little sister.

I wonder if you are the one that maybe is coming to me

She missed Zechs. Everyone else believed that he was dead. Noin was sure he was still alive. And she was lonely without him.

Yes, she had Relena, and Sally, and her other friends, but still with Zechs gone it was like she was missing a piece of her heart.

Noin rested her head on her knees. When they were in school, she and Zechs used to sneak out and star watch. She found Polaris.

"Remember Zechs, if you can find Polaris, you can always find your way home," she whispered.

Zechs, her best friend and only love. So many people thought she was foolish to stick by him. It was obvious to them that Zechs had no interest in her. Noin's students had thought that she deserved better. None of them understood, with the exception of of her closest friends and two of her students.

They didn't get it. Two lonely orphans had found friendship togther. By the time they were adults, that friendship was the strongest bond either of them had, and it had deepened into something more.

Not that many people ever saw it. Zechs wasn't exzctly the kind of guy who broadcast his emotions. That hadn't bothered Noin. Though her only students who had ever understood it were Aina and Shiro.

Rain is falling down my face

The music's playing

It's playing for you

The wind blew into her tear streaked face as if to brush away her tears. She looked at the stars. She wouldn't give up hope. No matter what anyone else said, Noin would keep believing that he was alive out there somewhere.

She closed her eyes and let the tears flow freely. She missed him so much. The woman sighed; she could almost feel fingers brushing away her tears. Wait, someone was brushing away her tears with gentle fingers.

Noin's eyes flicked open to be met by sky blue eyes framed by wispy platinum blond bangs.

"Zechs?" she whispered.

He smiled at her and nodded. Noin wrapped her arms around him.

"I'm so glad you came back."

Tonight is going to be the night to get into your soul

Let me show you that I'll stand there by your side

"I can't stay," he told her. "I don't think the world's ready for me to come back from the dead, and I'm not sure I'm ready to either. But I wanted to see you.

Noin simply smiled and rested her head on his shoulder. She knew he had his demons to face. He just had to get to the point where he would accept her help. She would always be there for him.

Noin held his hand in hers. He would leave, yes, but she would see him again. Together they watched as a star shot across the sky.

"Make a wish," Zechs said.

"Mine already came true," she replied.

There shared a sweet kiss under the stars.
