Lying in my bed I hear the clock tick and think of you

Jen lay restless in her bed. Memories of Wes filled her mind. She had been a fool to leave. The future was no longer her home. Her heart wasn't here. She had left it in the past.

Sometimes you picture me

I'm walking too far ahead

The second hand unwinds

Wes ran his fingers over the silver picture frame. It held the only picture he had of Jen. He missed her with all his heart. Why had he just let her go? But he knew the answer; it was because he didn't want to hold her back. He loved her to much to do that to her.

Wrapped in her comforter, Jen watched the sun rise. She had made a decision. She knew what she needed to do. In her heart she had always known. It was time to go home.

After my picture fades

The drum beats out of time

Wes walked down the street with Eric only half listening to his friend. He had other things on his mind, mainly memories of Jen.

"Wes? Wes? Have you heard a word I've said?"

"Huh? Oh yeah Eric."

"You really miss her, don't you?"

"With all my heart."

"Take care Jen," Lucas said.

She got hugs from him, Katie, and Trip then climbed into the timeship.

"Goodbye."

"Goodbye Jen. Now go before you get caught."

Wes and Eric left the café discussing the Silver Guardians. They were so involved that Was didn't notice the woman walking toward him. The two of them crashed head on.

"I'm sorry."

"No, it's my fault. I wasn't paying attention."

He offered her a hand up then gaped in surprise. Jen looked up at him.

"Hi."

Eric took one look at the two of them and said, "Wes, I'll see you later. Jen, welcome back."

Jen and Wes walked hand in hand in the park.

"Jen, why did you come back?"

"Because that wasn't my home any more. This is."

Wes smiled, "I'm glad you came back."

"Me too."

He rested his forehead against hers.

"Jen, I love you."

"Me too." She giggled, "I mean I love you too."

Their lips met in a gentle kiss.
