Author's note: I do not own Power Rangers or its characters.  I also do not own the song Ordinary Day.  If I did, I wouldn't need student loans.

Ordinary Day

Just a day

Just an ordinary day

Just trying to get by

Jen's mind was wandering as she watched the sunrise. It wandered back to the past. Back to Wes.

Just a boy

Just an ordinary boy

But he was looking to the sky

Not in her wildest dreams would she have believed she would fall in love with some boy from the past. But she had. And now she felt out of place in her own time.

And as he asked if I would come along

I started to realize

That everyday you find

Just what he's looking for

Like a shooting star he shines

Wes gave up on sleep and got out of bed. It was almost dawn. As he watched the sun rise, his mind wandered back to his memories of Jen.

And he said take my hand

Live while you can

Can't you see that your dreams are right in the palm of your hand

Right in the palm of your hand

He missed her with all his heart. He never should have let her go. But he did because he loved her. If you loved someone, you were supposed to set them free. But letting Jen go was one of the hardest things he had ever done.

And as he spoke he spoke ordinary words

Although they did not feel

For I felt what I had not felt before

You'd swear those words could heal

Jen had hurt so much after losing Alex. It had been so hard to move on, but as she began to heal, she also had realized that she had actually been infatuated with Alex, not in love with him. And Wes had been there even when she tried to push him away. He had become her constant.

And as I looked up into those eyes

His vision borrows mine

And to know he's no stranger

For I feel I've held him for all time

It was really only when she was about to lose him that Jen realized how much she loved Wes. She couldn't bear to lose her memories of him just as she couldn't leave him to save Silver Hills on his own and die doing so.

And he said take my hand

Live while you can

Can't you see that your dreams are right in the palm of your hand

Right in the palm of your hand

There was a knock at her door. Jen opened her door a crack and peered out. The rest of her team stood outside. They looked excited and nervous and almost guilty.

"Guys?"

"We have a proposition for you," Katie said.

Please come with me

See what I see

Touch the stars for time will not flee

Time will not flee

Can you be

Jen stood in the empty clocktower. She was back. She was home. She didn't know how her team had managed it, but they had gotten her back to the past.

"Jen?"

Just a dream

Just an ordinary dream

As I wake in bed

And that boy

That ordinary boy

Or was it all in my head

Did he ask if I would come along

It all seemed so real

But as I looked through the door

I saw that boy standing there with a deal

Jen whirled around to see Wes staring at her with a look of disbelief on his face.

"Hello Wes."

"Is this a dream?"

"If it is, I'm dreaming too."

He reached out and hesitantly cupped her face in his hands. Jen smiled leaned forward to kiss him.

And he said take my hand

Live while you can

Don't you see that your dreams are right in the palm of your hand

Right in the palm of your hand

Right in the palm of your hand

The kiss was everything that Jen had been dreaming of since she had returned to the future. With it all her doubts and worries about returning to the past were erased. This was right and she was home.
