Author's note: I do not own Power Rangers or its characters.  I also do not own the song Ordinary Day.

Ordinary Day

Ashley flopped on her bed. Her homework was done finally. It had been an ordinary school day, in other words, awful. She was so sick of dealing with school. Maybe today had been a little more awful than usual. At least she didn't have to worry about Astronoma anymore. Kerone was back for good. And at least no one remembered that she was the Yellow Ranger. Well, almost no one, she had a hunch that Adelle knew.

Just a day

Just an ordinary day

Just trying to get by

The others would be at the Surf Spot. Hopefully, Andros was back from KO-35 and would be there too. He'd been splitting his time between KO-35 and Earth since Dark Specter had been defeated. He wanted to help the colony rebuild, but he also wanted to be with the people he cared about.

Just a boy

Just an ordinary boy

But he was looking to the sky

She had made the right decision by going into space. If she hadn't, she would have never met Andros. She would have missed out on finding the love her life. In the beginning, she had wondered if Andros had even wanted them there on the Megaship. She had been attracted to him from the first, but it was awhile before she realized he felt the same way. But over time he opened up around her.

And as he asked if I would come along

I started to realize

That every day you find

Just what he's looking for

Like a shooting star he shines

Andros wasn't the kind of guy she had expected to end up with. She had always gone for the tall, dark, and handsome type. Someone who was incredibly romantic and who would sweep her off her feet.

No Andros wasn't what she had been expecting, but she wouldn't trade him for anything.

He said take my hand

Live while you can

Don't you see your dreams are right in the palm of your hand

Dragging herself off her bed, Ashley changed into a comfortable pair of shorts and tank top. She already wore the necklace Andros had given her. After pulling her hair back into a ponytail and finding a pair of sandals, she was good to go.

And as he spoke

He spoke ordinary words

Although they did not feel

For I felt what I had not felt before

You'd swear those words could heal

The gang was all there. Ashley collapsed in a chair next to Andros giving him a tired smile.

"Tough day?" he asked.

She nodded, "I am so glad this is my senior year."

He squeezed her hand, "It could be worse."

"How?"

"We could still be fighting Dark Specter."

"Thank you, no. I do not need Ranger duty on top of school."

And as I looked up into those eyes

His vision borrows mine

And to know he's no stranger

For I feel I've held him for all time

Andros just grinned at her. She had been so lucky to find him.

"I hear rumor you have a three day weekend. And the spring meteor showers are going on at KO-35. I was wondering if you'd like to go?"

"I'd love to. A weekend without stress sounds wonderful."

"I will warn you; Zhane's liable to be around."

She just laughed, "I bet Kerone will keep him busy for us."

And he said take my hand

Live while you can

Don't you see your dreams are right in the palm of your hand

Right in the palm of your hand

Resting her head against Andros' shoulder, Ashley stared up at a sky full of shooting stars. For once she had nothing else to do and nothing to worry about. Ashley closed her a moment. Andros squeezed her hand, "What are you thinking?"

"How nice it is just to be with you."

He smiled at her, "The feeling's mutual."

She snuggled closer to him content to just enjoy the moment. Moments like this were too far and few anymore.

Please come with me

See what I see

Touch the stars for time will not flee

Time will not flee

Can you be

Ashley blinked sleepily; this was not her bedroom. Oh right, she was lying outside of KO-35's largest city after spending the night watching a meteor. shower with Andros. She smiled and closed her eyes again. This was why their fight against evil had been worth it; moments like this made all the fighting and hardship worthwhile.

Andros had an arm wrapped around her waist, and she cuddled back into his embrace. She would be content to spend her entire day like this. Andros smiled and kissed her hair, "Morning sleepyhead."

Just a dream

Just an ordinary dram

As I wake in bed

And that boy

That ordinary boy

Or was it all in my head

Ashley smiled, "How long have you been awake?"

"Awhile, but that's okay. I never mind being with you."

Andros brushed her hair from her face and stole a kiss. She stole one back. They continued to snuggle together as the sun came up reveling in their time together.

Did he ask if I would come along

It all seemed so real

But as I looked to the door

I saw that boy standing there with a deal

Finally, Andros rose and offered Ashley a hand up, "We should probably head back."

"Afraid Zhane has burnt down the city without you there to supervise?"

Andros laughed; he did that much more often now, "I'm more worried about Kerone scaring off the half of the colony that's fawning over Zhane. You'd think that they could pick up on the fact that he's taken."

Just a day

Just an ordinary day

Just trying to get by

Just a boy

Just an ordinary boy

But he was looking to the sky

They stopped on a hill above the city to share another kiss; this was what life was about.
