"That man is driving me completely crazy."

"Wufei has that effect on most women. Smacking him upside the head helps."

"Have you tried talking with him?" Noin asked gently.

Sally shook her head, "You can't talk with that man."

"Sal, he needs to know."

"I have no idea what you're talking about Noin."

Her friend sighed, "And people think you're observant. Sally, you're in love with Wufei. I know it; Zechs knows it; Lady Une knows it. Heck just about everyone does. So why can't you just admit it?"

I thought my hear had learned its lesson

Sally shook her head, "Noin, if I was in love, I think I would know it. And I can tell you truthfully that I'm not in love with Wufei."

Noin shot her a disbelieving look then sighed, "Look, I've got to go. Zechs and I are going with Relena to the conference in Hawaii. Think about what I said."

Sally shook her head again as Noin left. She knew her friend meant well, but she was not about to let her heart be broken again.

She had been in love before with one of her fellow medical students. She had thought he was serious; he had just wanted some fun and good test scores. It had hurt so much when she found out that Rick was just using her. Sally wouldn't ever make her heart that vulnerable again. So what id Wufei was handsome, intelligent, and, on the rare occasion, sweet, she wasn't going to risk taking a chance on him.

There was a knock at her door. Wufei stuck his head into the office, "I'm ordering Chinese for the office; do you want anything?"

"Sure, I'll have sweet and sour pork and an order of wantons."

He gave her that smile that almost stopped her heart. Twenty minutes later he had returned with the food and a case he wanted to discuss with her.

Sally sighed as Wufei left. He really was a great guy. And awfully sweet. She shut down her computer and got ready to call it a night. There was a knock at her door. She opened it to find Wufei.

"You didn't get your fortune cookies," he told her.

"Thanks."

"See you tomorrow," he called as he walked away.

She sighed again and smiled.

At least out loud I won't say I'm in love
