Crash and Burn

When you feel all alone

And the world has turned its back on you

Give me a moment please to tame your wild wild heart

I know you feel like the walls are closing in on you

It's hard to find relief and people can be so cold

When darkness is upon your door and you feel like you can't take anymore

Hitomi turned off the radio and pulled on her coat. She turned off the lights and locked her dorm room's door. Exiting the building, she walked out into a night full of snowflakes.

Let me be the one you call

If you jump I'll break your fall

Lift you up and fly away with you into the night

If you need to fall apart

I can mend a broken heart

If you need to crash then crash and burn

You're not alone

It was Christmas time, and Hitomi was alone. Her college roommate was home for the holidays as well as most of the other students in the dorm. Her family didn't want her at home. Hitomi's little brother's girlfriend's family was visiting, and there was no room for Hitomi. No one wanted her.

When you feel all alone

And a loyal friend is hard to find

You're caught in a one way street

With the monsters in your head

When hopes and dreams are far away and

You feel like you can't face the day

Hitomi hated college. She didn't know what she wanted to do with her life, and the teachers had an active dislike of her. There was no place she really belonged except Gaea. And it was impossible for her to return there.

Let me be the one you call

If you jump I'll break your fall

Lift you up and fly away with you into the night

If you need to fall apart

I can mend a broken heart

If you need to crash then crash and burn

You're not alone

The girl found herself on a snow covered bridge. She looked down at the dark water. Hitomi closed her eyes and jumped.

Because there has always been heartache and pain

And when it's over you'll breathe again

You'll breathe again

She was falling then strong arms wrapped themselves around her waist. Hitomi felt someone's bare shoulder against her face. Opening her eyes, she looked up. It was Van. His arms tightened around her as he smiled down at her.

When you feel all alone

And the world has turned its back on you

Give me a moment please

To tame your wild wild heart

Van set down gently on the bridge. Hitomi was the first to speak, "This is a dream, isn't it? In a minute, I'm going to wake up in my room."

"It's not a dream Hitomi. I'm really here."

She just shook her head.

"Hitomi, why did you jump?"

Van watched brokenly as tears streamed down Hitomi's face.

"I'm all alone. No one here wants me. No one here cares about me."

He gently brushed her tears away.

"I care Hitomi," he said leaning down to kiss her. "Come home with me. We all miss you. I miss you."

Hitomi rested her head against his chest. She looked up eyes shining.

"Yes."

Let me be the one you call

If you jump I'll break your fall

Lift you up and fly away with you into the night

If you need to fall apart

I can mend a broken heart

If you need to crash then crash and burn

You're not alone

Van wrapped his arms around Hitomi and took off. As they flew into the sky, a white light surrounded them.

They touched down in a snowy field overlooking the city of Fanelia. As they began to walk down to the city, Hitomi smiled. She was home at last.
