Serena lay sprawled across the floor one arm holding her up. The white silk of her dress and her golden hair were in sharp contrast to the jet black floor. Before her, sword in hand, stood her beloved Darien quite ready to kill her.
She looked up at him unable to move. Maybe, just maybe, she could get through to him. Soft words spilled from her lips.
We were strangers
Starting out on a journey
Never dreaming
What we'd have to go through
Now here we are
And I'm suddenly standing
At the beginning with you
She lowered her head. It seemed there was nothing she could do to change her fate. Darien looked at her and blinked. Almost unwillingly, his mouth opened.
No one told me
Serena's head shot up; her sapphire eyes wide.
I was going to find you
Unexpected
What you did to my heart
When I lost hope
You were there to remind me
This is the start
Serena pulled herself to her knees; her eyes locked on his as she joined her voice with his.

Grinning like a fool, Serena started the next verse unaware of anything besides Darien and the music.

On a crazy adventure
Darien came in with a smile matching hers.

Green cat pupiled eyes blazing with anger watched the two of them. The plan had failed, and the two before him were on the verge of freeing themselves from this realm of darkness.

Darien smiled down at her; whatever happened, they were together. He sang on.
I knew there was somebody somewhere
Like me alone in the dark
He pulled Serena up into his arms as her voice joined his.
Now I know my dream will live on
I've been waiting so long

They were so focused on each other and the music that they didn't notice their surroundings change.

The two of them stopped singing. They stood in a shealtered spot in one of Tokyo's parks. The moon shone above giving them enough light to see that they were dressed in their normal clothes.
"We're back," Serena said.
"Yeah. Meatball Head, do me a favor," Darien said as they began to walk towards her house. "Next time, don't invite your evil cousins."
Serena's silvery laughter rang through the park. She took his hand in hers and sang.
