The IDEAL School

Welcome to my former home page.
I no longer teach in the best university ESL program in the world, the Intensive English Language Program at Portland State University. Starting Fall 2006, my wife and I ventured out on our own to start The IDEAL School. It is for students who do not fit into a program like the IELP; they need a more individualized English program. The students at The IDEAL School live on campus with their teachers and get many opportunities to practice using English throughout the day. There are weekly excursions, and monthly longer trips. Students at The IDEAL School feel safe because they are part of an American family and a small rural language school, 45 minutes from PSU. There is currently only room for 10 students at The IDEAL School, so you never have to worry about class size or not getting enough feedback from your teachers.

Philosophy
"You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him
drink."
I wash the bucket, put in clean fresh water, and lead you to the water, but you must
choose whether or not you will drink it.
