Tune down 1/2 step

just the notes: G,...B, C,..B, C, B, G,..B, C... B, C, B... etc..

eventually, he plays the whole chord with these root notes 
while his ring and pinky fingers are on the G/C9 position @ 3rd fret...
the chorus is odd... acoustically, he just slides what looks like a C9
up the neck and then strums, coming down for a few other chords...
maybe to D or F or something... but i can never get it right...
