Shada Shada

Starting to write music again. And what I mean by write music is random phrases pop into my head and I write them down. But someday... and maybe today is that day i'm going to flesh them out and produce hits that include more cowbell. Or not. I seriously do want to write music because i've given up on my career as a singer which was a huge blow, and now i'm looking for the next big thing. Thing is i'm so self critical of these phrases that come out of my head because they sound so corny. Maybe I can sing country or something and let the corniness flow.

I have no clue what i'm doing in track other than running. Yesterday we tried to field events and relay practice. Basically I've run the 4X400 twice in my life and that is a bit different that the 4X100. So basically i'm stuttering through the whole practice trying to explain everything to kids who know less than me. And the thing is I can envision this whole thing going on for the rest of the season. "Ok kids... this is a shot put... it's heavy... yeah... ummm go do a Indian Run... and you can pass the shot put around." I think it's time to track down the T. He'll know what to do.

The site is going to go another minor format change. Instead of having a separate post for "stuff of the day" or "thought of the day" i'm just going to include everything in one big fat post. First it make me look good as it looks like i'm updating with mega content everyday, second it means I have some killer filler for those very lean post days.

Met some interesting people last night. Survivors of my old dorm, the Ondine. One of them happens to be Amanda's new roommate the others friends at an informal get together last night that happened to be a party... i guess. Marcus, Noah, and I got there around 12:30 and most people were already a bit tipsy, so that is quite a first impression. I don't know I felt uncomfortable because the whole thing was kind of a clique thing from the beginning so we couldn't really get to know anyone. But Noah, Marcus, and I talked books and that was really productive. Note to self: finish "on the Road", re-read "Perks of being a wallflower", find "Me talk pretty one day". oh if any of you want to buy a book my family has 38 bucks in credit at Reader's Guide in West Salem which translates everything being half off. Just send me the money and i'll pick it up for you. I love going to that place because it' so cozy and endless. The many rooms of Reader's Guide... reminds me of Bilbo's house because I always feel a bit big for the place.

Thought of the day. It's on meeting new people.

"Meeting people unlike oneself does not enlarge one's outlook; it only confirms one's idea that one is unique."
- Elizabeth Bowen

Today's song of the day is Midlake. I don't know who exactly they are but i've got a cd that I borrowed from Emily and it has 3 great songs from them. She said something about them being featured in Jason Lee's (of Mallrats, Dogma, and a variety of other movies) skate videos.
