Text:   O'Grady, W., Archibald, J., Aronoff, M.,  Rees-Miller, J.  (2005).

Contemporary Linguistics:  An Introduction  (5th edition)

Course Requirements:

Ø      Problem Sets  (30% of total grade)

Ø      Homework/Attendance/Participation (20%)

Ø      Midterm (25%)

Ø      Final Exam (25%)

Problem sets and exams will be based on readings, lectures, and homework exercises.  Homeworks will be assigned for each chapter and will be turned in and graded for completion, not correctness.  Late problem sets will receive a 10% reduction.  Problem Sets will not be accepted after the answers have been given out.  Your grade will suffer if you do not turn in all of the problem sets/homework and do not attend class.  Homework will be accepted up until the test for that section (midterm/final).  Lectures will be posted to website shortly after each class.
