I believe that History is one of the most important subjects students can study. I plan on teaching highschool level History at a public school. Currently, I am a mentor with the University Studies Program at Portland State University.

 Students learn more when they feel involved in their education. This can be something as simple as having group discussions that allow them to voice their opinions/concerns on the subject being covered.  By engaging students and helping them realize they have something to offer in their education one can create a life-long learner.
