Resources for Students
Have you ever wondered how to write a literature review? Are you familiar with library research resources available at PSU? Do you know how to cite sources for your class project, thesis or field area paper? How can you successfully avoid plagiarism? For answers to these questions and more, and for students who are new to the field of transportation we have prepared several guides that will be useful for you:

Engineering Education
I am a member of the American Society for Engineering Education, and also have learned a lot about engineering education from Richard Felder's site.

Graduate Program
We have an active graduate program with a combination of full-time and part-time students. Assistantships are available for the highest-caliber students. Some national fellowships are also available. We currently offer two graduate degrees:

M.S. and M.Eng. Civil & Environmental Engineering
Transportation Option

Students must follow the departmental guidelines for the M.S. or M.Eng. programs, and indicate an interest in transportation. Read the very useful Graduate Handbook. Once admitted, students develop a customized program under close supervision of their advisor. The Transportation Option offers a wide variety of course, project and thesis opportunities. Students are required to fill out a Program of Study Form.

Ph.D. Civil & Environmental Engineering
Transportation Option
Students must follow the departmental guidelines for the Ph.D. Program, and must establish a working arrangement with an advisor before admission.

Undergraduate Program
We offer an ABET/EAC accredited B.S. in Civil Engineering. Read the Undergraduate Handbook. Undergraduate students should all join the student chapters of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). All undergraduates should obtain their FE registration.
