Copyright statement for John Rueter

PSU POLICIES

I have disclosed my web publishing projects to Portland State University. As of this date (May 2, 2000) I haven't heard regarding their interest in protecting the copyright for the University.

If any of this has commercial value, I will negotiate with PSU.

MY STATEMENT OF MY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

I consider all of the individual elements in my web site and the organization of that information as my intellectual property. I don't consider that the University or OUS owns that intellectual property.

MY STATEMENT OF WHAT I THINK MY RIGHTS ARE

I retain the full rights to all material that I have created including, but not limited to;

the right to edit (or not to edit) the material at any time

the right to share (or not share) this material with colleagues

the right to remove the material from circulation

AGREEMENT WITH STUDENTS

All material that I create for my courses is made available to students in those courses on a limited license agreement. This agreements allows students to use the material for the duration of the course but clearly states that I am not transferring ownership to them or giving up my copyright by giving it to them for free. This is explained in the syllabus.

THIS COPYRIGHT STATEMENT

I reserve the right to update this copyright statement and have any new statement cover all material created in the past.
