Jan 17 Kesler and Simon  2016 Mineral Resources,
              Economics and the Environment
            Preface, Chapter 1 Introduction
Supplement
1: The Earth and the Moon

          http://wvaughan.org/notes/Accretion%20and%20primary%20differentiation%20of%20the%20Earth.pdf
A fundamental question in Earth
science is discussed in this paper. We will look at similar
questions throughout the course, although our scale will be
much smaller than VaughnÕs scale. Pay attention to changes in
thinking that result from either new data or new models. (And
          donÕt worry about the details.)

Supplement 2: The Bill Bottke NSF Lecture

This lecture uses a varitety of
models to account for various features of our solar system.

              https://science360.gov/obj/tkn-video/179c780a-bd29-411e-a03b-a6517513fa20

     The lecture
runs about 45 minutes. Models are shown at 4:00,  8:50,
          11:00, 15:55, 19:00, 23:20, 30:00, 36:00, 40:10, 44:30.

    Too much of the
video shows Bottke and not his images. Nonetheless, his
          discussion is valuable.
